Diamonds, chosen with care
Every diamond at Amiora is certified and hand-selected for its light and beauty. A diamond is judged by four properties — the four C's.
Carat, cut, colour and clarity together determine a diamond's beauty, rarity and value. Below you can explore each of them — and see what we recommend.
Carat
See the size
Carat is the stone's weight. Choose a weight and see a round brilliant at actual size — on the hand or on its own.
The diamond is scaled to actual size relative to the hand.
Amiora recommendsCarat is weight, not necessarily visible size. An excellent cut makes a stone look larger and more alive — so weight should never stand alone.
Cut
Diamond cut
The cut determines how much light the diamond returns — what we experience as sparkle and life. A fine cut catches the light and sends it back to the eye; a poor one lets it escape through the bottom and sides.
Poor
Diamonds with poor cut reflect less light and may appear darker or dull.
Amiora recommendsChoose at least Very Good — ideally Excellent. Cut is the single most important factor for sparkle, and a poor cut cannot be made up for by the other properties.
Color
Diamond colour
Colour is graded from D (completely colourless) to Z (visibly yellow). The finest diamonds are colourless, letting light pass cleanly without tinting the stone.
D — Colourless
The rarest quality — entirely without colour, letting light run freely through the stone.
Amiora recommendsFor white gold and platinum, D–H flatters the stone best. For yellow and rose gold, a warmer tone (G–J) is often both more beautiful and wiser.
Clarity
Diamond clarity
Clarity describes how few natural inclusions the stone has — graded under 10x magnification. Almost every diamond carries small traces of nature; the fewer and smaller, the rarer the stone.
SI2 — Slightly Included 2
Noticeable inclusions visible under 10x magnification and possibly to the naked eye.
Amiora recommendsVS1–VS2 is 'eye-clean' — free of inclusions you can see with the naked eye, without paying for what only a microscope can catch.
Certified quality
Every diamond above 0.30 ct comes with an international certificate from GIA or IGI — your assurance of the stone's authenticity, cut and clarity.
